The final match of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge (MLSC) Yogyakarta Series 1 2025-2026, held at Tridadi Stadium on Sunday (October 19th), was exciting and competitive. In the 10-year-old age group, Baburroyyan Kiyudan Elementary School successfully became the champion after a fierce match against Imogiri 3 Elementary School, with a score of 5-4. Meanwhile, in the 12-year-old age group, Muhammadiyah Karangploso Elementary School dominated, defeating Wonoharjo 2 Elementary School, which was the champion of the MLSC Yogyakarta Series 1 2024, with a final score of 6-1.
Recapping the final match of the 10-year-old (KU) MilkLife Soccer Challenge Yogyakarta Series 1 2025-2026 between SDN 3 Imogiri and MI Baburroyyan Kiyudan, the game was intense and thrilling. A nine-goal thriller unfolded in a match that was open and attacking from the moment the first half kicked off. In fact, SDN 3 Imogiri immediately scored a quick goal created by Razqa Hurun Nuha just 1 minute into the match thru a fast attack scheme. However, it only took two minutes for them to equalize to 1-1 with a long-range shot from Aqilla Azahra Putri Yuana.
Her ability to fire accurate shots from long range saw Aqilla score again in the 9th minute, allowing her team to turn the game around and take a 2-1 lead. That goal was scored by Viola Jessica Christina after she successfully put the ball into the net of MI Baburroyyan Kiyudan in the 11th minute. The 2-2 tie only lasted for a minute because Aqilla's direct shot from the middle of the field was too difficult for Mysha Adeeva Afsheen, the goalkeeper, to stop. An additional goal allowed MI Baburroyyan Kiyudan to close the first half with a score of 3-2.
The exchange of goals didn't just happen in the first half; both teams managed to add two more goals in the second 15 minutes. Both teams demonstrated an attacking game to maximize their chances of winning the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Yogyakarta Series 1 2025-2026.
The patterned teamwork of SDN 3 Imogiri allowed them to open the scoring in the 20th minute of the second half, with Nuri Azizah Febriana contributing the goal, bringing the score back to a 3-3 tie. However, Aqilla truly became a nightmare in this final match, scoring two additional goals and contributing a total of five goals. In fact, even a goal scored by Razqa Hurun Nuha, a player from SDN 3 Imogiri, just one minute before the end of the match was not enough to prevent his team from losing.
Aqilla not only emerged as the hero who led MI Baburroyyan Kiyudan to victory in the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Yogyakarta Series 1 2025 - 2026, but she also established herself as the top scorer in the U-10 age group with 39 goals. "I am very proud that I was finally able to help the team win the championship after only reaching the round of 32 and the quarterfinals in the previous two series. Finally, in this series, we were able to win, which makes me even more confident in pursuing my dream of becoming a player for the Indonesian women's national team," said Aqilla.
Meanwhile, the final match of the KU 12 MilkLife Soccer Challenge Yogyakarta Series 1 2025 - 2026, featuring SD Muhammadiyah Karangploso versus SDN 2 Wonoharjo, also showcased a flurry of seven goals and attractive individual performances. However, the majority of this match was dominated by SD Muhammadiyah Karangploso.
Relying on their star player, Nadia Shakila Azzahra, SD Muhammadiyah Karangploso didn't take long to take a 3-0 lead in the first half. Nadia contributed two goals in the 1st and 4th minutes, while another goal was scored by Najwa Azzahra Aprilia Falamulyadi in the 8th minute. During the match, he often danced on the field with nimble footwork and powerful shots toward the goal.
SDN 2 Wonoharjo briefly displayed an aggressive attacking performance in the second half, scoring a goal in the 16th minute by Chelsia Naura Putri. However, Nadia's above-average individual quality allowed her to add three goals for SD Muhammadiyah Karangploso in the second half.
Even in the 17th minute, thru a solo run, Nadia managed to get past all the obstacles from SDN 2 Wonoharjo before scoring the fifth goal for her team. He also emerged as the team's winning player after scoring in the 23rd minute, leading SD Muhammadiyah Karangploso to victory in the 12-year-old age group of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Yogyakarta Series 1 2025 - 2026.
I'm so happy that I finally became the champion of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Yogyakarta Series 1 2025 - 2026. In fact, previously my school's KU-12 team could only get past the group stage. "I want to dedicate this victory to my parents, who always supported me so I could keep pursuing my dream of becoming a successful football player and being part of the Indonesian national team that will compete in the World Cup," said Nadia, who is currently training at SSB Putri Mataram Sleman.
Champions Alternating
The MilkLife Soccer Challenge Yogyakarta Series 1 2025 - 2026, held from October 14th to 19th, 2025 at Tridadi Stadium and Sidomoyo Football Field in Sleman, was participated in by 1,619 female students from 84 Elementary Schools (SD) and Islamic Elementary Schools (MI) in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas. These students were divided into 69 U-10 teams and 80 U-12 teams. The increase in participants in each series indicates a positive trend, along with increasingly even quality.
Program Manager of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge, Edi Supriyanto, stated that the wheels of the early childhood women's soccer ecosystem in Yogyakarta are spinning faster, in line with the organizers' targets. This is evident from the emergence of debutant teams and the fact that the champion of each series was a different team, except for SDN Ungaran 1 KU 10, which managed to win the MLSC Yogyakarta Series 1 2024 and MLSC Yogyakarta 2025 last June. He assessed that the young women's abilities were quite evenly distributed and not dominated by just one or two schools.
For example, as a two-time champion in the KU 10 category, SDN Ungaran 1 lost to SDN 3 Imogiri in the semi-finals of this series. However, in the previous series, SDN 3 Imogiri lost 0-4 to SDN Ungaran 1 in the final match. This means there's a qualitative improvement in the schools that participated in previous series. We also appreciate the 11 new schools competing in this series. "Hopefully, the enthusiasm and spirit of the daughters of Yogyakarta in pursuing football will burn even brighter and be followed by other cities hosting the MLSC," said Edi.
The head coach of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Yogyakarta, Tri Wulandari, stated that the increase in the number of participants in the MLSC Yogyakarta Series 1 2025-2026 is in line with the improvement in the quality of female footballers. Great potential and high competitiveness were also demonstrated by individuals and teams who were new to the competition in this tournament organized by the Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation and MilkLife.
The MilkLife Soccer Challenge is held regularly in Yogyakarta, and this consistency is attracting more participants who are serious about pursuing women's soccer and continuing their training with SSB. As a result, in this series, more and more female students have developed their game on the field, both in individual technique and teamwork. In fact, the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Yogyakarta Series 1 2025-2026 also unearthed a number of talents from schools participating in this tournament for the first time," said Wulan.
Furthermore, Tri Wulandari and the talent scouting team have already shortlisted 25 names to undergo intensive training at MilkLife Soccer Extra Training. It is hoped that with the technical skills learned, the selected young women can develop their abilities to the fullest extent possible, along with the achievements they will attain.
For your information, the enthusiasm of the female students in the City of Students to participate in the MilkLife Soccer Challenge continues to show a positive trend. In the MLSC Yogyakarta Series 1 2024 event, 452 female students participated. Then, in MLSC Yogyakarta Series 2 2024, there were 1,203 participants. Meanwhile, at MLSC Yogyakarta 2025 held from June 18-22, the number of participants increased again to 1,315 female students.
