Revitalization of the Traffic Park and Rendeng City Forest: Synergy between BLDF and Kudus Regency Government Brings Community Education Facilities Kudus (20/04) – The Djarum Foundation's Environmental Service (BLDF) has partnered with the Kudus Regency Government to carry out Phase I of the Revitalization of the Traffic Park and Rendeng City Forest, as an effort to optimize the function of inclusive Green Open Space (RTH). This initial phase has been underway since October 2025, focusing on improving facilities and infrastructure. This includes tidying up the park's landscape (hardscape and softscape), repairing the education building, adding pergolas and information facilities, and providing teaching aids in the form of twelve battery-operated cars and motorcycles. Previously, the park, inaugurated in 2017, had been utilized by the people of Kudus as a basic learning facility for traffic discipline.
The completion of this phase was marked by the signing of the Handover Minutes (Berita Acara Serah Terima - BAST) between BLDF, represented by the Director – Communications of Djarum Foundation, Mutiara Diah Asmara, and the Regent of Kudus, Sam’ani Intakoris, along with the Acting Head of the Housing, Settlement Areas, and Environmental Services (PKPLH) of Kudus, Didik Prasetiyo, represented by the Secretary of the PKPLH, Rima Mulyani. The ceremony was also witnessed by the Deputy Regent of Kudus, Bellinda Putri Sabrina, the Head of the Kudus Regency Transportation Agency, Mundir, and the Kudus Police Chief, AKBP Heru Dwi Purnomo, followed by the ribbon-cutting.
Director – Communications Djarum Foundation Mutiara Diah Asmara stated that this revitalization is carried out as an effort to rejuvenate the facilities in order to optimize the potential of the Traffic Park as an educational medium. "We believe that the Traffic Park and Rendeng City Forest not only function as green open spaces (RTH), but also play an important role in improving the quality of life for the community." Therefore, this revitalization is part of a joint effort to create sustainable public spaces. Thru cross-party collaboration, we want to create a space that is not only physically comfortable but also capable of being a platform for interaction and shared learning," said Mutiara.
In his speech, Kudus Regent Sam’ani Intakoris appreciated and thanked the Djarum Foundation's Environmental Service for their support in developing educational public spaces for the community. "We express our gratitude for the ongoing cooperation and collaboration between the Kudus Government and the Djarum Foundation's Environmental Service in supporting the enhancement of inclusive public spaces, especially in providing education on the importance of traffic discipline from an early age." This, of course, also requires guidance from various parties so that the efforts made can run sustainably and have a broader impact," said Sam’ani Intakoris.
The optimization of the traffic park and the Rendeng city forest does not escape the role of the Kudus Regency police in managing the facilities and ensuring that the educational elements run optimally. Kudus Police Chief AKBP Heru Dwi Purnomo also appreciates the ongoing synergy and is committed to supporting every environmental care initiative. "We support this revitalization initiative as part of a joint effort to preserve the environment while also providing a public space that benefits the community." The hope is that this revitalization activity can provide a sustainable positive impact. Thru various programs initiated by the Kudus Regency Government and the Djarum Foundation's Environmental Charity, it is hoped that public awareness of traffic safety can increase and improve," said AKBP Heru.
With the completion of this first phase, it is hoped that public interest in visiting the traffic park and the Rendeng urban forest will increase, resulting in ecological and educational benefits. This initiative can also serve as an example of developing public spaces thru cross-sector collaboration that not only focuses on facility improvements but also contributes to fostering a community that is more aware of safety and environmental sustainability.
